Domaine de Sceaux

The castle is located in Sceaux in the department of Hauts-de-Seine.

 

From Paris Chatelet les Halles mine B to Bourg La Reine

Bus 192 to Parc de Sceaux

 

 

It is built between 1856 and 1862 for the Duke and Duchess of Treviso.

 

Nowadays it houses the permanent collections of the Domaine départemental de Sceaux museum. 

The Domaine de Sceaux was created at the end of the 17th century, commissioned by Colbert(Comptroller General of Finances under Louis XIV) and then his son, the Marquis de Seignelay. André Le Nôtre, the great architect of the gardens at Versailles, was the master builder.
