The Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune is a former charitable almshouse in Beaune, France.
It was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of Burgundy, as a hospital for the poor.
The original hospital building, the Hôtel-Dieu, one of the finest examples of fifteenth-century Burgundian architecture, is now an museum.

It was created in 1645 and includes a few beds for more affluent patients. It is remarkable for its murals by Isaac Moillon depicting various miracles of Christ and Saint Hughes as a bishop and Carthusian monk.

Salle des povres, the poor room.
The room is occupied by two rows of curtained beds lining the south and north walls, with the central space reserved for tables and benches for meals. The furniture was restored in 1875.

An ancient medieval vaulted wine cellar over 300 metres long was built under the Hospices de Beaune.
This is where the Hospices’ private wine reserve is kept. This cellar is open to the public only during the sale of the Hospices de Beaune.
