Sacre Cœur

The Basilica of Sacré Coeur de Montmartre known as  Sacré-Cœur is a Catholic church and minor basilica in Paris dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

 

Sacré-Cœur Basilica is located at the summit of the butte of Montmartre.  The basilica overlooks the entire city of Paris and its suburbs.

The construction of the Casre Coeur began in 1875 and completed in 1914.

Coupola from below. Each sculpted angel carries a symbol of the passion of Christ.
