Saint-Étienne-du-Mont is a church in Paris on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève in the 5th arrondissement, near the Panthéon.

 

It contains the shrine of St. Geneviève, the patron saint of Paris.

The construction started in 1494 and it was finally finished in 1626.

The tomb of Saint Geneviève was desecrated during the French Revolution.

The remains of the saint’s tomb and relics were transferred in 1803 to Saint-Étienne-du-Mont.
