Malmaison

Château de Malmaison is located in the commune of Rueil-Malmaison in the Hauts-de-Seine department of the Île-de-France region.

 

In La Défense station bus 258 to Malmaison stop ‘Le Château’. 

It is best known as the home of Napoleon I and his wife Joséphine de Beauharnais.

 

Since 1904, Malmaison has been owned by the French state and houses a museum in memory of Napoleon (and Joséphine).

A confession of 1376 reveals the existence of a manor house, with a courtyard, lower courtyard, land and vines.
