Arles is located in the South of France, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region

 

From Paris Gare de Lyon is 3h30 by train to Arles

The Arles Amphitheatre is a Roman amphitheatre in Arles. Built in 90 AD, the amphitheatre held over 20,000 spectators of chariot races and bloody hand-to-hand battles.

This cloister is a must-see destination for Van Gogh admirers, who can discover the place where his ear was treated and recognise the subject of some of his paintings.

The Church of St. Trophime is a Roman Catholic church and former cathedral.
