Bourges

Bourges is located  in the department Cher in the region Centre Val de Loire.

 

From Paris is 2h10 by train.

Bourges has a long tradition of art and history. 

The cathedral Saint Etienne is particularly known for the great size and unity of its interior, the sculptural decoration of its portals, and the large collection of 13th century stained glass windows. The cathedral is build in 1195.

The Bourges marshes, also known as the Yèvre and Voiselle marshes, are located in the major bed of the Yèvre river to the east of Bourges town centre.

They comprise 135 hectares of ancient marshland developed by humans from the 8th century onwards, and are now used for urban agriculture (private vegetable or ornamental gardens) and for a range of leisure activities (fishing, jogging, walking, tourism, etc.).
