Boulogne sur Mer

Boulogne is located in the Pas-de-Calais département in the  region of Hauts-de-France.

 

It lies on the Côte d’Opale, a touristic stretch of French coast.

 

The town is famous for being France’s leading fishing port, and for having been an important link port with England until the end of the 20th century.

 

 

Nausicaá Centre National de la Mer is a public aquarium.

It is the largest public aquarium of Europe.

 

 

 

 

From Paris Gare du Nord is 2h20 by train.

The Château-Musée de Boulogne-sur-Mer is a municipal art and archaeology museum.

 

 

Founded in 1825, the museum has a wide range of archaeological collections, including the largest collection of Greek ceramics in France (outside Paris) and one of the world’s largest collections of Inuit art.
