Reims

Reims is located in the Marne department i’ the region Grand Est.

 

From Paris Gare de l’Est is 45 minutes by train to Reims. 

 

Reims is known for the diversity of its heritage:

*Reims Cathedral,

*The Palace of Tau

*Abbey of Saint-Remi 

Memorial Place de la République 

Statue of Louis XV at the Place Royale.

 

The monument was founded in 1765. 

The Palace of Tau  in Reims, was the palace of the Archbishop of Reims. It is associated with the kings of France, whose coronation was held in the nearby cathedral of Notre-Dame de Reims and the following coronation banquet in the palace itself.

Today, it serves to host cultural events for the city of Reims.

The largest champagne cellars are in Reims and Épernay. 

The Subé fountain is located on the Place Drouet-d’Erlon.

The Solidarité fountain is located on the Place Drouet-d’Erlon.

The Basilica of Saint-Remi.

 

It was founded in the 11th century. 

Several royal and archepiscopal figures lie buried in the basilica, but in unidentified graves.
