Coupvray

Coupvray is located in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region.

 

From Gare de Marne la Vallée Chessy bus 2262 to Coupvray.

The Castle of Rohan, built over the period 1596–1602 by Hercule de Rohan, Duke of Montbazon, is another visitor attraction, although it is now mostly in ruins.

The Louis Braille Museum is the  house where Louis Braille was born.

It houses a museum dedicated to the life of Louis Braille.

 

Braille’s hands are buried in Coupvray as a symbol of Louis’ system of touch reading, the rest of his body is buried in the Panthéon.
